Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Atrium Town Company (“Atrium Town”), which operates Atrium, and govern Atrium accounts and participation. Contact Atrium Town at hello@atrium.town.

Your account

You must be at least 18 to create an account, post, or otherwise participate in Atrium. Public pages may be read without an account.

Use accurate account information, protect your sign-in methods, and tell Atrium Town if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account to the extent the law permits. Atrium Town may refuse an account or suspend access when needed to address abuse, security, violations of these terms, or legal requirements.

Your content and access choices

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Atrium Town the permission needed to store, transmit, display, back up, and process it to operate the service and enforce its safety rules. That includes sharing content with the people allowed by the settings of the space or conversation and with the service providers described in the privacy policy. This service permission ends when the content is deleted, except for temporary retained copies, content already copied by recipients, or preservation required by law.

For content you make publicly readable without signing in within a public space after these terms take effect, you also permit Atrium Town and providers working on its behalf to use that content to develop and train AI models, where the law allows. Earlier content is covered only if its author separately agrees. This permission does not apply to private resources in a public space, private spaces, or direct messages. Deleting source content would not necessarily undo training already completed. Atrium Town is not currently training models on user content; the privacy policy explains the current practice and how a change would be communicated.

People who manage spaces and resources choose their members and access settings. Content shared in a public space or open resource may be seen without signing in. If you grant someone access, they may save or share what they see. Check your settings before posting sensitive material. Atrium Town applies the settings offered by the service but cannot recall content already received by another person.

Rules for use

Do not post content that you lack the right to share; threaten, harass, exploit, or impersonate others; distribute illegal or abusive material; spam; interfere with the service; try to bypass access controls; or use Atrium to violate the law. You are responsible for the content you submit and your interactions with other people. Report content or conduct that needs attention.

Safety and enforcement

Atrium Town may screen content with automated tools, including OpenAI's Moderation API, and review reports with human operators. Atrium Town may hold, block, hide, remove, or preserve content for safety or legal reasons. It may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts or spaces when reasonably needed to enforce these terms, protect people or the service, or comply with law. Atrium Town may act without advance notice when prompt action is necessary; it should provide notice or a way to contest a decision when practical. A user can also block another account in their own view. The Moderation and security policy explains the current process. Moderation tools can miss harmful content or flag harmless content.

The service and other people

Atrium Town may change, interrupt, or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of material changes when practical. Other users control what they post and how they behave. Atrium Town does not endorse their content or guarantee its accuracy, legality, or safety. You are responsible for deciding whom to invite and which access settings to use. Atrium Town does not guarantee that content will remain confidential after it has been made public or shared with another person.

Warranties and liability

To the extent allowed by applicable law, Atrium Town provides the service as available, without a guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Atrium Town is not responsible for losses caused by another user's conduct, a recipient's use of content they were allowed to access, or an access setting a user chose, except to the extent Atrium Town's own conduct or the law makes it responsible. This does not remove Atrium Town's obligation to apply its access controls as described or to take reasonable security measures.

To the extent allowed by applicable law, Atrium Town is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits. Atrium Town's total liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid Atrium Town in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply where the law prohibits them, including any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes and contact

Atrium Town will give reasonable notice of material changes before they apply when practical. For a material change to how existing content is used, Atrium Town will seek any agreement required by law before applying that change. Continued use after other updated terms take effect means you accept them; if you do not accept them, stop using the service and request account closure.
